Student: Will you help me spell carrot sticks?
Me: Sure, but why carrot sticks? You're supposed to be writing about the main character in the story.
Student: I know, you told us to tell things about him, so I'm writing about his carrot sticks.
Me: Ohhh, you mean characteristics.
Student: Yeah, that's what I said, carrot sticks.
