Faaaaallllll, where arrrrre youuuuu? (in a sing-song kid voice)

Okay, I'm ready for fall.

I'm pretty much over summer weather, summer clothes, summer smells, summer sweats, and most importantly, summer bugs. After being nailed in the forehead with about 87 different species of winged insects while on my run tonight, I decided I was indeed, over summer.
At one point, a bug the size of a small bird decided to get up close and personal with my cornea.

Yep, I'm over it.

I'm ready for the cool air, the crisp breeze, the...........ah, who am I kidding? I'm really just looking to be able to stretch a good hair washing an extra day.

Speaking of hair, I went to visit my favorite sis-in-law today, who just so happens to be my favorite hairdresser. As of lately, I've been feeling a little follicularly challenged, not quite satisfied with my summer strands. So, I decided to get a few low lights, which we all know is the first 'official' sign of fall.

Living in the south, temperatures don't really start to drop until around December or so, if we're lucky. I can remember wearing shorts at Christmas several times as a child. But don't think we ever skipped out on wearing our flannel-rayon-blend, long sleeved Christmas pajamas. The ones that always made me sweat a little while I slept and got caught on any hangnails I may have had. I still can't figure out why I looked forward to getting new ones every year. Just tradition I guess.

I'm excited about beginning traditions with Kate. Some will be ones carried over from my childhood and some will be brand new, unique to our little family.
Last year she was still too young to understand the holidays but I think she'll be able to really start enjoying them this year.

Anyway, fall can't get here soon enough for me, or my soon to be uber pale skin that is unfortunately losing its summer tan with a quickness. Hmmmph.
The more my tan fades, the more I'm wanting to pull out those crusty trusty Christmas PJ's!

Here's to hoping fall is right around the corner! ;-)

you may remember actually sleeping in your christmas pj's, but i had those bad boys stripped off immediately after the picture was taken.

there's something about pale, freckled skin that makes it a little more sensitive.

I am right there with ya girl! Except it has already felt like fall here so we have already pulled the light jackets back out! YAY! I am a jacket feen (sp?), so that's exciting to me! :) But you never know living here what the weather will do, one day it's cold the next day it's burnin up! Crazy! To me, the best part of fall is all the decorations and smells! Mmmm...can't wait!! :)

Fall can't get here soon enough! I want to walk with Cale in the evening, but the bugs might carry him away :)

Since we've had this weird rain, it feels like fall already. I LOVE IT! I'm thinking about busting out the pumpkins for the porch!
