Better late than never

It's been 15 months since I made it, but I finally painted and hung my belly cast from when I was large and in charge preggo with Kate. I ordered my kit from a company called Proud Body. It was really easy to do and only took about 45 minutes or so. I would (will?) definitely do it again.

If you go to the company's site, there is a whole gallery of photos showing the different ways people posed for and painted their casts. I wasn't looking to turn Kate's nursery into a nipple-opolis so I took the conservative route and put my hands over my chest. Some of the example pics on the company's website are pretty amazing and even look professionally painted. I decided to keep mine simple and thought it would be a little more sentimental if I painted it myself. And...let's face it, I'm not that creative.

I had to put in a profile shot so you could see the overinflated beach ball that was my stomach.

Before I hung it on the wall, I put it over my belly to try and remember what it felt like to be 9 months pregnant again. Toward the end of my pregnancy, I gave up on trying to bend down to put on my shoes, so I just went barefoot. JUST KIDDING, I wore flip-flops people. Good thing it was summa-time!

Hopefully when Kate gets a little older she'll get a hoot out of seeing where she "kicked it" for nine months.

That is so cool! I never did anything like that and I really wanted maternity pictures, but just never got around to it. The "where Kate kicked it" is super funny!

I've never seen this before! So sweet! (seriously I measured 50 weeks at the end of my pregnancy, not my fault, story to come soon :) but mine would have taken up half his room!)

You put Demi Moore and Martha Stewart to shame all at the same time. Way to go!

I can not believe out of four pregnancies I never did this! I love it and it looks precious in her room! Maybe I will do it next time... I am so kidding! I am so done!

I have never laughed so hard from a single quote on a blog. Omigosh. SO FUNNY.

So cute! There's a new way to create a belly cast that you might like for next time. It's by Belly Vita and their process is easier, quicker and much more relaxing! They include aromatherapy and the end Belly Imprint is a beautiful piece of art. check it out - www.bellyvita.com :)

Get out! I did this with both of mine, but mine is a nipple-opolis. LOL

I haven't done anything to either one of mine but thread a ribbon thru the tops and one of them is almost 6 years old. lol

What is really funny and random about all that tho is that I posted on MomLogic today that my favorite baby shower gift was a belly cast. Then someone asked me if I had ever done one and I sent her the link to the post I did about mine. Then I come here and read you did one too. See, weird.

Anyway, sorry this comment was so long! Love yours, it's adorable.
