'Tis the season

I'm not sure how much blogging I'll be doing the rest of the week. Christmas is right around the corner and for the first time ever, my sister (Sal Gal) and I will be totally responsible for cooking our family's entire Christmas meal...from appetizers, to main course, to desserts. I've always been responsible for a single dish and that's it. And on top of that, I usually volunteer for the easiest side dish, too - like green bean casserole, or if I'm really lucky, I'll be in charge of bringing the rolls! But this year, I'll be married to my kitchen for a couple days in hopes of producing an edible Christmas dinner for our family. I'm excited (and a lil' nervous) to see how it all turns out. Wish me luck, my dear friends. I will need it, fo sho.

A few pics from last Sunday:

Last night we took Kate to see Santa and she was so excited! Thankfully, a lot different from last year, as you may recall.
She hopped right into his lap and proceeded to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. She explained to him that she wanted (s)tickers and a new baby. When asked what else, she simply replied, "more 'tickers." Sweet. I think Santa can handle that. Stickers? Easy. Baby? Oh we've got you a baby comin' alright - in about five more months to be exact.
I was a good girl last night, too. I ate dinner 'buffet-style' for M to the Izz-A, after our visit with Santa. And you all know about me and buffets. We have a love/hate hate/hate relationship. But, 'tis the season for giving (germs), right?
This morning Kate wanted me to take a picture of her holding her pic with Santa.

I absolutely cannot believe how grown up she looks in this picture.

Now I must finish making that grocery list that I started this morning. I enjoy cooking, just not shopping for all the ingredients.
Has anyone ever heard of a grocery store that you can call ahead or fax in your grocery list and they'll have it all bagged up and ready for you when you get there....maybe even in a drive-thru window? Seriously. Would that be a money maker or what? Did I dream this up or does this store exist somewhere?

She DOES look so grown up!!

And I'd TOTALLY shop from a store that had everything waiting for me already bagged up... I'd even pay some higher prices for that convenience... someone needs to start that process rolling on how to open up that store!!!

My grocery store in Minnesota did this for a small fee. It was AWESOME. They also had drive-up for all your groceries so you didn't have to load your car. I miss that place!

Those kinds of stores exist...at least here in central PA! :) We go online and purchase the groceries from the full virtual 'shelves' and then go pick them up for a $5 charge! It's called grocery valet! Sweet huh? You can also get delivery too!

Yup a store like that exists, just not in the town I live in. In my hometown there is a store that you go online get everything and then put in a pickup time, when you get there it is all bagged up and they deliver it to your car! SERIOUSLY!! Pretty amazing stuff!! That Santa pic is too cute!

There is actually a grocery store in a small city near me that does that for a fee. I think you can even e-mail your shopping list to them, and if I am correct they have a special area to pick them up so you don't have to go all the way in the store! Good luck cooking your very first Christmas Dinner!

That outfit in the first pictures is adorable!
Here in Colorado you can pay $10 to get your groceries delivered to your house. I've never one it but between gas, time and the extra impulse buys I would say you save money.
