She's Showing Me Up

On Saturday a group of us got together for (hopefully the first of many) Mom's Day Out (MDO). But before I proceed, would someone please inform when I became old enough to attend such things?! It's like I blinked and "Bam!" I'm now saving dates on my calendar and getting excited for events that involve going to Target for half a day and slurpin' down a BK Mocha Joe on the way home just because we were feeling rebellious. Ahh, I have arrived.

We planned a day of shopping and lunch. We ended up going by a local Goodwill and I have to say that I was very pleased with my completely unexpected purchase.

Now granted, it's no Big Daddy D, but she loves it just the same.

$2.99 and a couple of sanitizing wipes later (actually about five...I was trying to sound 'laid back') and she's good as new!

We had a fun day and although we initially envisioned ourselves buying several new outfits, purses, and jewelry, we all ended up having to buy things like diapers, wipes, and milk...

The vacuum brought out the domestic side of Kate. And when I finally decided that today was the day to clean out my car (the popcorn from last weekend's Disney On Ice had seen better days), she helped with that too. She even joined in when M to the Izz-A gave the outside a nice scrub down.

These photos beg the question: If she is in fact enjoying it, is it child labor??

My girls have that same striped shirt! Man- we have good style!

She looks like such a big girl! (maybe it's because she is washing your car... lol!)

And on the job front... there has been an opening listed! So of course I'm all over it! I have everything (apps/resumes/etc) in order- now they just have to give me an interview... then hire me! Ha ha. I am trying really hard to be peaceful and not stressy!

Annnnnndddddd on the vay-cay front. The SECOND I have the cash- or convince the hubs to charge it!- I'm there!!! At this point, post testing with 5 more weeks of school- I am wishing for a trip! =)

The way I see it- if she enjoys it, let her work!! In fact, send her to my house so she can work on my floors ;) She's adorable!

That is too funny, I thought the same thing. Everynight after dinner I am vacumming up food under the table, and last night Leighton was dying to take the vacumm from me,so I let her have it when I was done. At the same time I was hoping no one would drop by and see her for fear of Child Labor Laws!

We have the same vacuum but it's all purple. It was my daughters but now my son loves to play with it!

Teach her young...haha! She is so stinkin cute, but you already know that. :)

I am so behind on my catching up with all my blog buddies!!

Looks like you guys had a great Easter! I'm so jealous that you were able to wear a sleeveless shirt...it was rainy and FREEZING here on Easter. Go figure!

How neat is that little purchase from your MDO! I need one of those for Sterling...maybe Kate could teach him a thing or two about some cleanin'! :)

I know you were gald to have some girl time.

Kate really did look like she enjoyed cleaning. Just wait u ntil she has to clean her room before she an go out with her friends. Then, she will hate it.

I'm a little concerned about her still using a pacifier. My cousin kept her pacifer past a year old, and now she's had to get braces as a teenager. I'm not exactly sure about how old Kate is, but it's just some advice.

I love the MDO idea! I also love it when I find great things like that vaccum-I totally screwed up the spelling. Anyway, it has been a long time since I found a good deal like that. Glad you had fun!!

This post reminds me of when my little sister saw me washing my first car. It was a Toyota MR2 - cute little two seater sports car. She wanted to wash too, so she later went out, got some water and scratched my car to bits with a ROCK.

She thought the sponge was a ROCK!

Makes me SICK to even think about it all these years later.
