Time with the fam = one enjoyable weekend

This weekend's theme: Family time

On Saturday we attended a pottery party at my friend Becky's home. We had such a great time and the kids were able make Christmas ornaments using their little fingertoeprints. I'm really excited to see the finished products!

Kate and Hamp enjoyed getting to put paint on their toes. I enjoyed getting to sit back and let someone else do it.

And since it's finally cooling down a little (a real little), we took Kate to the zoo.

I've never really understood these things. They don't really make objects THAT much closer. But, kids enjoy them, and they cost 25 cents, so at least you feel like your actually doing something.

We bought tickets for all three of us to 'pet' the stingrays. Here's a pic of the only person who actually ended up doing it.

This picture shows a calm Kate. However, the moment that giraffe's tongue made contact with her leaf, she a let out a blood-curdling scream and then broke out in uncontrollable LAUGHTER. It was hilarious. To us. To the giraffe and the zoo staff? Not so much.

My favorite pic from the day:

She rode the carousel as many times as there are animals on it. She had to spend a little time with each of them.

And this little guy held our attention for the majority of our visit:

Last night Granny T invited Kate to spend the night with her. She lives just down the driveway. Kate ensured their safe walk back to her house with one of Daddy's 37 flashlights. Seriously, the man has more flashlights than underwear.

Why is Granny holding food and a pitcher of sweet tea you ask? Because we didn't have our weekly gathering with friends in which we stuff ourselves silly after church tonight, so she quickly came to our rescue with the afternoon's leftovers. She takes care of us people. My kitchen is, for the most part, only open on weekdays.

So, we sent Kate and Granny T off, put Hamp to bed, and did what any normal, young (err, well, not really young...how 'bout youngish? Is that a word?) married couple would do.

Read a little and added some Netflix to our queue.

Hollie, you are looking as gorgeous as ever and your hair may have officially inspired me to low-lite next time I make an appointment. Would it be creepy if I printed your pic and took it my stylist?! Ha ha :) The kiddos are darling, btw!
