Time (and Speed) Management 101

I have neglected this little blog 0' mine for a little over a week now and it really has nothing to do with being unusually busy and has everything to do with time management, or lack thereof. I do have lots of pictures that I will be posting later today (probably more like tonight...I told you, the time management thing...) of our fun-filled weekend.

The most exciting event that has happened to me lately is that I got pulled over for the second time in about four months. Actually, let's be honest, it wasn't exciting. I get incredibly nervous when I see the blue lights flash on and my mouth starts to get that watery feeling you get right before you throw-up. I also tend to lose control of my tearducts, which can be quite embarrassing since I'm pretty much a grown woman. (pretty much???)

After I got pulled over the first time, M to the Izz-A put me to sleep with his exponentially boring lecture on speed and the value in setting the cruise control. I assured him that I was going to try my hardest to make a change...for the slower. And for a while there I did very well.

I even mentioned to him recently that I was making progress in the area of speed control, that I was becoming a fan of hanging out around 55-60 mph zone, and that I was pretty proud of myself. However, sometimes I start thinking of other things (imagine that) and before I know it, I've kissed Mr. 55-60 goodbye. So when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the cop slow down to whip his car around on the little two-lane road, I knew I was in trouble.

Not wanting to build up this big story and have a letdown of an ending, I'll tell you now that I didn't end up getting a ticket. Thank goodness.

After bragging to Matt about my mad skills at making everyday a slow Sunday drive, I absolutely could not have walked into our home with a ticket. Now that would have flown over like a lead balloon.

I just wanted to post a quick update. Stay tuned for the pics...

I don't even want to comment on this post for fear I may jinx myself. So let's just say it's been a while since I've seen the blue lights!

welcome back, we've missed you!!! lol, hubby is the more "cautious" driver in our family too, haa!! I've been better myself too. And it totally cracks me up that you didn't get a ticket. I've never gotten one before and I have been pulled over a couple times and a couple of our male friends have been and have gotten tickets, i just laugh...really hard!

I had to laugh when I read this because I got pulled over this morning on my way to work. I was never so glad to be a Panke before today, the cop was related to Paul somehow. I got out of it, thank goodness. My mom gave me the lecture that Matt gave you about going slow:)

I got pulled over 3 times (things on mind not paying attention before I know it I'm speeding) and never got a ticket..tears work lol! I get the same way and just start losing crying. Either that or the cop looks inside and sees all the kids and understands my speeding;)

That sucks. If you need defensive driving let me know. Mr. Guru's brother owns a company that does it all online!
