Free

During last Sunday's message at church, the preacher said a couple of statements that really struck a chord with my heart and I've been thinking about them and realizing just how blessed I am to have the Lord as my Savior.

While I'm not one to pretend to have retained the entire message poured out on Sunday, the following two statements made me feel........well, free.
Free to live and love. But more than that, it made me feel so very thankful for God's grace.
  • While God does not treat sin lightly, God is not paralyzed by my past sin.

  • There is more grace in Jesus Christ than there is sin in my heart.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14

Thank you Lord for your unfailing grace and forgiveness. For freeing up room in my heart, so that I don't miss little moments that you bless me with on a daily basis, like this

and this.

this was funny bc we talked about something very similar at my book club the other week (weird, I know) but one of the girls was giving her perspective on the book (the book was about forgiveness) and she said that "you can never out-sin God's grace". I have thought about grace a lot in the last couple of weeks. we are so blessed!

We are so blessed to have God's grace. And this time of year really brings that to the front of my mind. He sent his only son to die for our terrible sins. Just amazing! Great post Hollie!

I agree that it's important to recognize God in the little things as well as the big moments in life. And I love the pictures of your little girl- that new camera must be coming in handy!!

Great post! The first statement hit me square on the forehead.

While God does not treat sin lightly, God is not paralyzed by my past sin.

Wow. Thanks for reminding me how important forgiveness is, not only from God (glad for that!), but also for me in my interactions with friends, family, etc. I am very slow to forgive and I'm not proud of it. :( Thanks for the kick in the pants!

No matter how bad things can get sometimes it's so reassuring to know we ar forgiven and always have Him by our side.
My granny always used to tell me "If he brings ya to it he will get ya through it." I always think of this and get the warm fuzzies!
