Friday night was M to the Izz-A's work Christmas party. Let me preface this story by saying that I rarely ask Matt what he thinks of my outfit, as we have
With that being said, after getting dressed and ready to go, I pranced myself downstairs and decided to ask him if what I was wearing was okay, since it was his work party. Let if be known that I was not loving the outfit I had chosen...something felt a little off. I had on a pink top with what I thought was a cute, khaki-colored fitted jacket with ruffles around the collar, and a pair of trouser jeans. He told me beforehand that it was a casual party. So, I proceed to get his opinion:
Me: Is this okay?
Him: Ummm, yea, it's fine. (Strike 1)
Me: Fine!?
Him: Yeah, it's good. It works.
Me: No...I'm not feeling it either. I think I'm gonna change.
Him: Yeah, try something else. (So quick to agree?! Strike 2)
So I run back to the bedroom and throw on something else (black top with a few sparkles on it, grey sweater, same jeans) and run back downstairs.
Him: That's better. Wear that.
Me: Yeah, the first outfit was kind of.......
Him: Librarian? (Strike 3, you're out buddy!)
Bip, Boom, Bam! There I was, tumbling my way right back down to Humble Town.
Nothing against librarians, but it definitely was NOT the look I was going for and I was in no way prepared for that comment.
Check him out....brushing Kate's hair before we left. One would think that he is possibly trying to make up for an earlier comment.
We ended up having a great time at the party even though Kate was scared of Santa. I had to hold her and sit in Santa's lap for the picture, which did not turn out so well. We're going to try the whole picture-with-Santa-thing one more time later this week.
On Saturday, we went to finish up our Christmas shopping. I always tell Matt that it will be a quick trip. It amazes me that he still falls for it every time. The trip ended up taking the entire day and we didn't get home until after dark.
Here we are chilling out after a long day.
Although you can't tell, the best part about this picture is that M to the Izz-A is wearing a pair of my pajama pants from when I was pregnant. Like I said, you can't tell in this pic......count your blessings people! And here are a few other random pictures from the weekend in no particular order:
And before I go:
One day this week, I will be sharing a new Christmas tradition that I'm starting with my family. I got the idea from Granny T (Matt's grandmother) and am so excited about sharing it! Before her, I had never heard of doing it and can't wait to begin it this year. I think it's pretty unique, but if you've already heard of it, humor me anyway and tell me how cool it is, and that you've never, ever thought of doing something so amazing with your family on Christmas!

Yes, I've learned if I ask Mr. P if an outfit looks okay and there's a long pause, I just head back to the closet 'cause something isn't right!
