So there I was again, hugging it up with the big guy in red.
At least this time she smiled. Unlike the first attempt last weekend at Matt's work party, where she looked like a deer caught in the headlights, as seen in the photo below.
And because I was unfortunate enough to be the parent that got stuck in the Santa photo (both times) this year, when Kate gets older she will probably wonder, "What ever happened to my 2008 Santa photo Mom? I have all of my past Santa pics but for some reason I'm mysteriously missing the one from'08."
I have no idea sweetie.
Before leaving we decided to take advantage of the Christmas scene surrounding Santa and posed for a quick family shot.
Here's to hoping that next year she sits in his lap all by herself. If not, I hope Santa likes big rednecks in camo caps.

Those pictures definitely don't need to disappear - you both look so cute!!! I was the kid who was terrified of sitting on Santa's lap as well. In fact, all of my mom's pictures of me and Santa show me at my worst- crying and redfaced! I loved Santa visiting, but that was all. I was really afraid of all holiday figures!
You know they are still really cute pics, and its fun memory! She is darling (just like mama)!
The family picture is adorable! You all look so cheery! I love kates smile- adorable!!!
Cute....i know this is just what Avery will do...Lauren, well let's just say Santa better hope his beard is attached well!!!
So cute!!
LOL...I agree...I wonder what the Hubby would look like in Santa's lap...for that matter, I wonder what Santa would think of that?!?! Too funny!
There is a picture from when I am about 9 months old sitting on Santa's lap and you can see them shoving my 3 year old brother over to him. He is 27 now and STILL says Santa scares him.
Ahh, yes, I remember last year, just like it was yesterday....my darling daughter clung to me as if her life depended on it. Our picture of her with Santa included me and my hubby. You could still see the tears in her eyes...poor baby! Your pictures are too cute!
SO cute! I just LOVE her big cheese smile in that first one!
Hey I have to ask, where do you get your clothes. You always look so cute and put together!
you have such a gorgeous, blessed family...I love those pictures!
I think Santa looks a little too happy to have Holly sitting on his lap in that one. lol.
Merry Christmas!!!
I'm sure santa didn't mind you sitting on his lap lol
Yall are SO cute!! Merry Christmas!
Cute pics! My little girl did the same thing. She wanted no parts of Santa.
I love them! You both are getting your cheese on in the first one- they are sweet!!
Your pictures are adorable!! I almost went and sat in Santa's lap this year just to have a Santa picture being we don't have any kids. :)
it's sooo cute!! she think back and say my mom was cute!!!
That is a great family pic! What a beautiful family it is. :)
That is such a good picture of your cute little family!
We've had this problem two years in a row...and Santa is here at our house and she still REFUSES to let him touch her.
How do you manage to look so cute in all your pics?!
I love all three of these pics...you look gorgeous as usual! And the family one is just adorable.
You are so cute that Santa is probably glad your little one is just hesitant enough that he gets to be near you!
This is hilarious because we have two of the same pictures!! There will be a post on mine later! I always love your pictures!
I don't know why those pictures would disappear because you look absolutely amazing in them! You are so beautiful and what a gorgeous family! Love the family shot!
I love your style. Where did you get the silver vest? You always look so cute!
Dear anonymous,
The silver little jacket you're asking about is unfortunately about two or three years old. I think I got it at Target. My fam makes fun of me b/c I will wear something until it falls apart!
I've never had a problem with Brody until this year. He's 3 1/2 and I tried 3 times, and he said "I will never ever sit on that man's lap."
So I guess I don't get my picture of him and Santa this year!!
