Amazing

We sing a lot of praise and worship songs in our church and I've had one stuck in my head lately. I don't think it's by coincidence either. God puts songs in our heads and our hearts to remind us of what's important.

The song I've been singing lately as I go about my day reminds me that it's not about me or things I want to accomplish in this life. It's about HIM. How can we not sing HIS praise, through good times and bad? Our God is truly amazing and our plans pale in comparison to His ultimate plan for us.

I like the saying that goes something like this: Wanna make God laugh? Tell him your plans.
I mean really, what we can concoct in our minds as 'the perfect plan' for our lives, doesn't even come close to the Greatness of the Lord and HIS will for our lives.

Well, that's enough of me trying to analyze everything. I realize I start to just ramble because sometimes He leaves me speechless, really. I am in complete awe of the Lord's indescribable love for us and just how incredibly amazing He is.

Here's part of the lyrics I've been singing lately. It's from Chris Tomlin's "How Can I Keep From Singing Your Praise":

How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing

I can sing in the troubled times
Sing when I win
I can sing when I lose my step
And fall down again
I can sing 'cause You pick me up
Sing 'cause You're there
I can sing 'cause You hear me, Lord
When I call to You in prayer
I can sing with my last breath
Sing for I know
That I'll sing with the angels
And the saints around the throne

How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love

Awesome Hollie!! I have for YEARS had the perfect plan for my life. Here recently (probably within the past two years) I have realized that I'm NOT in control. He is in control and always has been.

Thanks for this constant reminder that we don't make the plans...HE does :)

What a great post! I love the lyrics and the meaning. God is awesome and so many times we try to get in the "driver's seat" of our lives, but we need to depend soley on Him!

I don't know if you get email that tells you when you get a comment on a post (because I don't and don't have a clue how to get it to do that, any hints gladly welcomed! :)) But I left you some messages on earlier posts!

How true! We found this out many years ago. I hear people plan their every minute of every day and I just think................hope nothing happens to change it.......they are in for the ride of their life; it can be one you consider terrible at the time but once past it....if you make it..........u look back and HE shOWS you why.....its amazing......Its for your own good, its for others, its for HIM.........He has our PLAN........We need not try to change it! I didnt know this 20 years ago.....Its an adventure.....not always jovial....but an adventure. I almost feel sorry for people who plan their lives out because I KNOW THINGS CAN CHANGE IN A SECOND! Its ok tho...because God uses it to grow us closer toHIM......now there is nothing better than that.....I wouldnt trade where I am now with Jesus for all the times I wanted to just die. Just a few thoughts on a subject that caught my eye. ly,mama
